Job Purpose: The NPI Sourcing Buyer role will be to source and procure electrical and mechanical components and assemblies from our global partners to support new projects. The NPI Sourcing Buyer will support manufacturing and R&D departments as well as work closely with commodity category managers to drive projects forward while balancing cost and efficiency factors. The individual must be biased for action and will be driven to meet all timeline and cost structure requirements. Working well with cross functional teams to unite around common goals will be an integral part of the job.
Job Duties:
Review RFQ documents to ensure validity and completeness before sending RFQ to suppliers
Submitting RFQs across all commodity categories and summarizing the results for review with management.
Ability to review costs and provide at-a-glance assertions about costing accuracy.
Maintain organization of information while managing multiple inquiries simultaneously
Planning material requirements, managing material delivery schedules, communicating effectively with suppliers to deliver material on-time.
Supporting supplier performance by providing the correct information and requesting any additional information from the cross-functional project team.
Working with material planning team to communicate supply chain risks and mitigation strategies.
Actively look for areas of process improvement, cost savings, and production efficiency practices.
Confidence to pick up the phone or schedule meetings with leadership to resolves issues immediately when there is a barrier to execute a deliverable
Education Required
Bachelors Degree – Preference: Business, Engineering, or related field.
Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English. Ability to speak Chinese preferred.
2+ years sourcing experience in Mechanical or Electronics sourcing.
